Delete your MY FISH account
Last updated: September 2026
This page explains how to delete your MY FISH account, and exactly what happens to your data when you do. MY FISH is published by IM'IN OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registration number 17314352).
How to delete your account
From the app (fastest):
- Open the MY FISH app and sign in.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. The deletion is carried out immediately and you are signed out of every device.
If you cannot sign in, email support@imin.uno from the address associated with your account, with the subject Account deletion and your MY FISH username. We verify that the request comes from the account holder, then carry out the deletion — normally within a few business days, and in any case within 30 days.
Deleting your account cannot be undone. Your username is released, and your fishing log cannot be restored afterwards — not by you, and not by us. If you want to keep your data, export or note it down before deleting.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following are erased:
- Your profile: display name, biography, avatar and avatar settings, profile photo, favourite species, country, region, language and time-zone preference.
- Your sign-in credentials: your password and your recovery code. Every active session is revoked and every sign-in token is destroyed.
- Your sessions and catches, including their notes, their route segments and their observations.
- Your photos — the image files themselves are removed from storage, not merely unlinked.
- Your private and friends-only spots.
- Your experience ledger, levels and trophies, your fishing profile and your statistics.
- Your friendships and friend requests, in both directions.
- Your notifications, your discovered-spot history and the reports you submitted.
What stays, and why
- Public spots you created remain on the map, but they stop belonging to anyone: they are held by an anonymous record, your name is no longer attached to them, and your personal note on each of them is erased. Other anglers have logged their own sessions and catches at those places; deleting the spots would delete part of their fishing log. If you want a public spot removed as well, tell us in your deletion request and we will handle it case by case.
- Content other people created — their sessions, their catches, their spots — is theirs and is untouched.
- Subscription and billing records, where you had a paid subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple and Google; we keep the minimum record of the transaction that accounting and tax law require us to keep. These records are kept for as long as that obligation lasts (up to 7 years under Estonian law) and are used for nothing else.
- An empty, anonymised placeholder row stands in for your account so that the items above stay coherent. It carries no name, no biography, no photo, no e-mail address and no usable password — the username is replaced by a random
del_… identifier, and your former username becomes available again.
- Server logs and backups. Operational logs and database backups made before the deletion may still contain your data until they are rotated and overwritten in the normal course of operation. They are never used to restore a deleted account, and the deletion is never replayed backwards into them.
